St.Mortens Church
| St. Mortens Church. A great many mediaeval churches in Denmark have at one time been abbey churches. This also applies to St. Morten's Church, which stands in the centre of the older part of Randers. Apart from the tower, which dates from 1795, the church was built in the years 1485-1520. The furnishings are somewhat characterized by the baroque style, among other things the grandiose altar-piece dating from 1765, "manufactured and erected" by the mayor, Sören Simonsen. |
